About The Position

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Customer Service Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with emphasis on fast and friendly service. Assist customers by making product suggestions. Engage in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via phone, intercom announcements, and one-on-one interactions. Answer and respond to incoming calls; resolve customer complaints and report to Store Director as needed. Produce Department Operations Plan daily operations and monitor production processes for compliance and profitability. Trim, cut, wrap, tray, display, and water produce. Build produce displays, rotate stock, and discard outdated or spoiled products. Ensure cleanliness of work area and department. Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays. Operate and maintain Salad Bar and Fresh-Made areas (where applicable). Follow and maintain department standards for product freshness and quality. Staff Management Monitor employee productivity and evaluate overall performance. Schedule employees to ensure adequate coverage and service levels. Possess knowledge of duties performed by all department employees, including opening and closing procedures. Supervise, train, and assign duties to department employees. Train employees on store policies, sales, and record-keeping procedures. Identify and train employees with high potential for advancement. Compliance & Standards Maintain working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Employee Handbook. Ensure proper code dating for all products within the department. Inventory & Financial Control Prepare sales and inventory reports; conduct physical inventory every 4 weeks. Control inventory to ensure adequate product quantity, quality, and freshness. Maintain inventory levels according to division directives; stock and rotate products. Organize and maintain produce cooler. Control shrink and costs. Equipment & Receiving Implement correct product preparation techniques. Operate related equipment such as pallet jack, hand truck, scissors, knives, safety cutters, and Sterilox machine. Perform receiving duties: break down loads, verify orders using invoices, inspect quality, report shortages, stock and rotate product. Adhere to product temperature and storage guidelines.
