About The Position

As a Produce Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you will collaborate with a team to deliver the finest produce presentation and work in the most popular department. You will teach and show customers the benefits of fresh produce, delivering an extraordinary customer service experience in a fast-paced and friendly environment. This role involves living the Sprouts name daily, as all produce is farm fresh and must be handled, prepared, and merchandised properly to ensure the highest level of customer service and satisfaction. You will maintain a high level of product knowledge and product preparation, stocking the Produce department, which includes presentation, facing, filling, and organization of all product items as set by department schematics, and ensuring tag and pricing accuracy. Additionally, you are responsible for proper stocking and rotation of merchandise, including trimming, watering, and merchandising products to ensure fresh, high-quality offerings. The Produce Clerk ensures proper inventory control to maximize product freshness and availability and answers customer questions in a friendly and helpful manner. The role is suitable for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years of age.

Requires standing, walking, bending, climbing throughout the entire work day.
Ability to lift, stack and maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs., from 4” to 72”, for a distance up 3 feet for between 10-50 hours without mechanical assistance.
Able to maneuver a utility cart holding 20 lbs. requiring a force up to 35 lbs., up to 2 hours, a distance up to 20 feet.
Be able to walk up to 5 miles in an 8 hour shift.
Adhere to all safety, health, OSHA and Weights and Measures regulations.
Team Members under the age of 18 will be restricted from using a knife (other than safety cutters).
Team Members under the age of 18 will be restricted from using a ladder.
Team Members under the age of 18 will be restricted from operating garbage or cardboard compactor.
Team Members under the age of 18 will be restricted from operating any motor/electronically powered equipment (including manual pallet jacks).
Team Members under the age of 18 will be restricted from working in coolers or freezers for prolonged periods of time.

Ensure proper inventory control to maximize product freshness and availability.
Answer questions from customers in a friendly and helpful manner.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
