About The Position

As a Produce Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you will be an integral part of delivering farm-fresh produce to customers daily. This role involves handling, preparing, and merchandising produce to ensure the highest level of customer service and satisfaction. You will maintain a high level of product knowledge and be responsible for stocking the Produce department, including product presentation, facing, filling, and organization according to department schematics, while ensuring tag and pricing accuracy. Additionally, you will manage the proper stocking and rotation of merchandise, including trimming, watering, and merchandising products to maintain freshness and quality. The Produce Clerk also ensures proper inventory control to maximize product freshness and availability and assists customers by answering their questions in a friendly and helpful manner. This position thrives in a fast-paced environment and requires a passion for helping customers make healthy choices.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years of age
Be dependable and reliable
Ability to work flexible schedule that changes, including night, weekends, and holidays
Have and show a mutual respect for others

Requires standing, walking, bending, climbing throughout the entire work day
Ability to lift, stack and maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs., from 4” to 72”, for a distance up 3 feet for between 10-50 hours without mechanical assistance
Able to maneuver a utility cart holding 20 lbs. requiring a force up to 35 lbs., up to 2 hours, a distance up to 20 feet
Be able to walk up to 5 miles in an 8 hour shift
Adhere to all safety, health, OSHA and Weights and Measures regulations

Responsibilities

Collaborate with a team to deliver the finest produce presentation
Handle, prepare, and merchandise farm fresh produce properly to deliver the highest level of customer service and satisfaction
Sustain a high level of product knowledge and product preparation
Stock the Produce department, including presentation of product, facing, filling, and organization of all product items as set by the Produce Department schematics
Ensure tag and pricing accuracy
Responsible for the proper stocking and rotation of merchandise in the Produce Department
Trim, water, and merchandise products to ensure fresh, high quality offerings
Ensure proper inventory control to maximize product freshness and availability
Answer questions from customers in a friendly and helpful manner
Perform other related duties as assigned
