About The Position

As a Produce Clerk at Sprouts Farmers Market, you will be integral to maintaining the high standard of farm-fresh produce. This role involves the proper handling, preparation, and merchandising of products to ensure customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for stocking the Produce department, which includes product presentation, facing, filling, and organizing items according to schematics, as well as ensuring accurate tags and pricing. Key duties also include the proper stocking and rotation of merchandise, trimming, watering, and merchandising products to guarantee fresh, high-quality offerings. The Produce Clerk ensures effective inventory control to maximize product freshness and availability and provides friendly and helpful assistance to customers. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years of age.

Requires standing, walking, bending, climbing throughout the entire work day.
Ability to lift, stack and maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs., from 4” to 72”, for a distance up 3 feet for between 10-50 hours without mechanical assistance.
Able to maneuver a utility cart holding 20 lbs. requiring a force up to 35 lbs., up to 2 hours, a distance up to 20 feet.
Be able to walk up to 5 miles in an 8 hour shift.
Adhere to all safety, health, OSHA and Weights and Measures regulations.

Responsibilities

Handle, prepare, and merchandise farm fresh produce properly to deliver the highest level of customer service and satisfaction.
Sustain a high level of product knowledge and product preparation.
Stock the Produce department, including presentation of product, facing, filling, and organization of all product items as set by the Produce Department schematics.
Ensure tag and pricing accuracy.
Properly stock and rotate merchandise in the Produce Department.
Trim, water, and merchandise products to ensure fresh, high quality offerings.
Ensure proper inventory control to maximize product freshness and availability.
Answer questions from customers in a friendly and helpful manner.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
