About The Position

Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support a well-established manufacturing operation within the corrugated box industry. This role offers a competitive salary, performance-based annual bonus, comprehensive benefits, and a clear path for advancement into Procurement Manager and executive leadership based on performance within approximately 18 months.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience in box and/or corrugated manufacturing.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience procuring materials for corrugated box, paper, or paper packaging manufacturing.
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement or related fields, with demonstrated leadership capability.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments, preferably corrugated box manufacturing and industrial supplies.
  • Proficiency with procurement and purchasing software and experience creating analytical reports.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude, including advanced analytical skills.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills when working with vendors, clients, and internal teams.
  • Willingness to work hands-on, learn machinery operations, and support manufacturing teams as needed.
  • Mentorship mindset with the ability to coach and develop future leaders.
  • Humility, flexibility, and willingness to work extended hours when required.
  • Strong sense of teamwork, camaraderie, and respect at all organizational levels.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Must reside in or be willing to relocate to New Orleans, Louisiana.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift moderate weight as required.
  • Willingness to spend time on the production floor and in operational areas.

Nice To Haves

  • Military experience or experience with military contracts is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full procurement lifecycle, including sourcing, purchasing, and contract negotiation.
  • Secure cost-effective agreements through strategic purchasing and strong negotiation practices.
  • Utilize procurement systems such as SAP and Oracle EBS to improve efficiency and visibility.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Analyze supply chain and procurement data to optimize sourcing strategies and cost controls.
  • Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements affecting procurement.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within manufacturing and supply chain operations.
