About The Position

The Procurement Specialist is a critical driver of production efficiency and aftermarket success at Ideal Electric. This role will manage the end-to-end procurement lifecycle—from strategic sourcing to final delivery. This is a high-impact role for a professional who understands that effective purchasing in heavy manufacturing isn’t just about placing orders; it’s about supply chain resilience, cost optimization, and vendor relationship management. This position requires access to, or development of, technology or technical data that is subject to U.S. export control laws, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The successful candidate must be a "U.S. Person" as defined by the ITAR (22 C.F.R. § 120.62) or be able to obtain the appropriate U.S. government authorization (export license) to access such technology or technical data. U.S. Person status is required for this position. A U.S. Person includes a citizen of the United States, a permanent resident alien (Green Card holder), a refugee, or a person granted asylum.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a heavy manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Advanced literacy in ERP/CRM platforms and Microsoft 365.
  • Comfortable using data to drive purchasing decisions.
  • A track record of successfully managing complex vendor and customer relationships in a professional B2B landscape.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify cost-saving opportunities and solve logistical challenges independently.
  • Must be a "U.S. Person" (Citizen, Green Card holder, or Refugee/Asylee) to comply with ITAR and EAR export control regulations.
  • Conduct business with the highest level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Work both as a collaborative team member and an independent problem-solver.
  • Maintain uncompromising safety and quality standards in every phase of the procurement process.

  • Familiarity with rotating equipment, generators, or large-scale electric motors.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Sourcing: Identify, vet, and establish a robust network of vendors capable of meeting rigorous technical specifications.
  • Procurement Management: Execute the purchase of specialized products, raw materials, and outsourced services essential to the production of large-scale motors and generators.
  • Financial Analysis: Lead estimating and costing initiatives to ensure production stays within budget while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Data Integrity: Manage and optimize procurement workflows within the company ERP system, ensuring real-time accuracy for production planning.
  • Operational Collaboration: Act as a liaison between the front office and the production floor to proactively address supply chain bottlenecks.
