About The Position

Amazon's Global Procurement Organization (GPO) is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support procurement operations and strategic initiatives across our enterprise. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to high-impact procurement projects while developing expertise in procurement operations and process improvement. The Procurement Specialist will support strategic procurement initiatives, execute cross-functional projects, and contribute to operational excellence across GPO. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, procurement operations knowledge, and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3+ years of supply chain operations experience
  • Experience understanding process flow and suggest improvements to deliver cost savings, inventory reduction, or other benefits to the site
  • Experience with analytical tools and ability to dive deep into metrics and reporting
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, and MS Project) at an advanced level
  • Experience building strategic relationships with stakeholders, including communicating and collaborating across teams and functions

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of relevant strategic sourcing and category management in indirect categories such as professional services, support or maintenance spend, supply chain, forecasting, manufacturing, sourcing/procurement, or vendor management experience
  • Experience using lean process improvement, six sigma methodologies, or related performance metrics/process improvements to increase efficiency within processes, forecasting, planning, optimization, or logistics
  • Experience working with technology teams and solving operational issues using technology
  • Experience effectively communicating complex concepts through written and verbal communication
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment similar to a high-tech start-up

Responsibilities

  • Execute procurement projects and initiatives that support organizational objectives
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives through data analysis and innovative solutions
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to support procurement outcomes
  • Assist in creating and maintaining documentation, standard operating procedures, and governance frameworks
  • Analyze procurement data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to deliver business improvements
  • Develop metrics and reporting to track performance and support continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, processes, and internal controls
