The Procurement Specialist serves a critical role in the organization by supporting the procurement of multiple components, subassemblies, raw materials, finished goods, production equipment, and supplies from distribution and approved suppliers in support of company objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum 3 years of procurement experience, preferably within federal contracting or defense sectors.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in procurement software, Excel, and other office tools.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • This position may require access to systems/tools/sites that are restricted to individuals who possess U.S. Citizenship.

Nice To Haves

  • In-depth knowledge of federal procurement regulations (FAR, DFARS) is desired.
  • Experience with underwater acoustics or related technologies is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement processes, including sourcing, negotiation, purchase order creation, and vendor management.
  • Ensure compliance with federal acquisition regulations (FAR) and company policies.
  • Coordinate with technical teams to understand project requirements and ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors, driving cost-effective solutions without compromising quality or delivery timelines.
  • Track procurement expenditures, provide reports, and ensure budget adherence.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with project managers, finance, and legal teams to resolve procurement-related issues.
  • Assist with supplier audits and performance reviews to ensure adherence to contract terms and conditions.
  • Support the overall procurement strategy and contribute to continuous process improvements.
