About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Procurement Specialist to support our supply chain team. The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for purchasing electronic components, raw materials, and subcontracting services. This role requires working within an ERP system, coordinating with vendors, and managing the logistics of purchased goods. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills and the ability to negotiate effectively to ensure timely and cost-efficient procurement. This is a hands-on, onsite role based in San Antonio, TX. You’ll work closely with the engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure the right components, materials, and suppliers are in place to support rapid hardware development. Our team operates at startup speed, and you’ll be expected to directly support builds that ship to customers on aggressive timelines. The role includes working on the production floor to validate parts, reviewing samples, supporting incoming inspection, collaborating in daily cross-functional discussions, and be physically present for fast-turn sourcing, vendor coordination, and build readiness efforts.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
  • Experience working with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) is preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of electronic components, raw materials, and subcontracting services is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Understanding of shipping, logistics, and international trade regulations is beneficial.
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for periods of time.
  • Ability to use a keyboard, mouse, and other equipment with or without accommodation(s).
  • Ability to maintain awareness during business hours.
  • Ability to lift 15 pounds.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and good command of the English language.
  • Ability to learn and memorize routine tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Source and procure electronic components, raw materials, and subcontracting services based on company needs.
  • Manage purchase orders and ensure accurate data entry into the ERP system.
  • Work closely with vendors to negotiate pricing, lead times, and service terms.
  • Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Handle logistics coordination, including shipping arrangements and documentation.
  • Assess supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including production and engineering, to ensure material availability.
  • Resolve supply chain issues such as delays, discrepancies, or quality concerns.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and ensure compliance with company procurement policies.
  • Stay updated on market trends and pricing fluctuations for purchased materials.
