JOB SUMMARY : Develop and manage strong relationships with suppliers to positively impact the organization’s financial performance and operational efficiency. Solicit and evaluate proposals/quotes, negotiate contracts, and evaluate supplier performance to ensure quality and delivery requirements.

Requirements

  • Proficient in MS Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams)
  • 1-3 Years of experience

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze purchase requisitions for a variety of complex or technical materials, supplies and/or services, investigate and identify proper sources of supplies, prepare RFQ specifications, issue RFQ requests and review quotations.
  • Review and analyze quotations and negotiate pricing as well as other terms and conditions within scope of authority and ensure compliance with requisition requirements such as delivery scheduled, compliance and quality.
  • Initiate purchase order and implement and control specified terms.
  • Inform requisition initiator of any problems and concerns regarding compliance with requirements including but not limited to schedule, terms, quality. Suggest changes to resolve differences while maintaining integrity of requirements.
  • Fully understand purchasing procedures to departments and suppliers, as a specialist in assigned material category and/or Product Family, which require a degree of technical knowledge.
  • Responsible for overall relationship management for assigned suppliers and related day-to-day activities to ensure on-time delivery of compliant parts, meeting all SMB’s quality requirements.
  • Conduct supplier site visits and evaluate them as to production capability, performance, delivery, supply chain qualifications and other key business criteria.
  • Support established inventory management systems such as kanban and safety stock to continuously meet production requirements.
  • Monitor the cost, schedule, and scope aspects of assigned contracts/projects to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Develop alternate sources of supply for critical parts, applications and/or programs by identifying and evaluating prospective suppliers.
  • Negotiate and settle claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations, and engineering changes with suppliers. Support resolution of any associated Accounts Payable issues resulting from such claims or discrepancies.
  • Monitor and evaluate supplier's ability to meet all company and government or commercial procurement requirements and ensure that the pertinent technical and quality issues receive adequate attention to assure compliance
  • Apply continuous improvement techniques and methods to internal processes and systems
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing trade publications, establishing networks, and/or participating in professional associations.
