The Impact You’ll Make in this Role As the Procurement Specialist for Converting and Pack out, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Working within the 3rd Party Manufacturing team, you will create, support and implement category strategies to ensure the Procurement organization and 3M meet its cost savings, growth and working capital goals by leading negotiations, being part of effective NPI launches, and managing complex supplier relationships. Here at 3M, you will make an impact by: Responsible for creating a best-in-class supply chain across the AMERICAS for the Converting & Pack Out Services category that will drive supplier consolidation, reduce risk, improve service and ensure year on year continuous improvement. Develop and implement the AMERICAS Converting & Pack Out Services Category strategies to meet current and future Procurement cost, cash and growth goals. Developing strong partnerships with suppliers and internal 3M stakeholders, including Manufacturing, R&D, Marketing, Finance and Supply Chain Operations. Minimizing the total product and process cost by initiating cost reduction efforts and facilitating implementation of innovative Procurement best practices. Act and be seen as the lead for supplier selection and owning external supplier relationships as the key point of contact for 3M, leading negotiations, being part of effective NPI launches, and managing complex supplier relationships. Identifying, leading & implementing solutions for complex and multi-faceted situations regarding dual-sourcing, negotiation, category strategy, supplier management, and external sources of supply. Determining & leading opportunities for process improvements that improve service, speed or cost, through analysis of Procurement information & metrics, including navigating complex situations and managing multiple internal & external stakeholders. Implementing and negotiating Agreements to cover complex supply relationships, which may include VMI (vendor managed inventory), consigned materials, formula-based pricing, etc.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start)
  • Five (5) years of Sourcing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering and/or Manufacturing experience in a private, public, government or military environment
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
