Position Summary The Procurement Buyer is responsible for the end‑to-end sourcing, purchasing, and supplier‑management functions for high‑usage and cost‑critical items. Working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams, the buyer ensures timely, cost‑effective acquisition of materials while maintaining strong supplier relationships and driving continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of procurement / supply ‑chain experience.
  • Proficiency in inventory‑ management systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical, problem ‑solving, and critical‑ thinking skills.
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and time‑ management skills.
  • All positions at Samsung Austin Semiconductor require you to be onsite.

Responsibilities

  • Purchase Order Creation & Management: Design and implement workflows for purchase order generation, approval, and fulfillment, integrating with ERP or other procurement systems.
  • Manage High Usage and Inventory: Analyze consumption trends to optimize stocking of high usage items while reducing or eliminating low usage/zero bin inventory.
  • Negotiate Annual Pricing Agreements and Drive Project Execution: Secure cost saving agreements on parts, lead procurement projects through to implementation, and perform post implementation reviews to validate savings and project impact.
  • Lead Cost Saving and Efficiency Projects: Define project scopes, establish budgets and timelines, and oversee execution to achieve measurable cost reductions and workflow improvements.
  • Track and Report Procurement Related KPIs: Monitor key performance indicators, compile executive level reports, and provide actionable insights to support decision making and companywide goals.
  • Interface with Engineering & End Users: Coordinate with product, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure smooth parts flow and that procurement processes meet technical and operational needs.
  • Participate in Global SCM Meetings: Attend supplier and engineering meetings to discuss procurement strategies, qualification plans, and future projects, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
