About The Position

As Procurement Officer at Action for Children, you will p rovide the lead responsibility for strategic commercial procurement on a wide range of large scale spend categories across the organisation and supporting change management approach to procurement at all levels of the organisation. You will also be responsible for maximising efficiency savings and ensuring effective systems are in place to enable resources to support the children, young people, and families who we support. Apply professional procurement practices, informed through the latest developments and efficiencies in the field of procurement. Capture key performance data to monitor and inform supplier performance. Produce scheduled and ad-hoc compliance management. Retain the central register of main contracts as well as other appropriate databases for key suppliers and main contractors. Ensure adequate arrangements are in place for an effective meeting i.e., online/ venue organisation, minuting, follow up action and agenda creation. Contribute and influence effective and efficient procurement practice across the organisation. Experience managing effective relationships with suppliers across a range of goods and services, including demonstrable negotiation skills.

Requirements

  • Have full or part CIPS qualification or the desire to pursue further professional qualification whilst having experience working in the Third Sector or Public Sector.
  • Proven experience to provide advice and guidance on all procurement matters.
  • Ability to develop and apply a procurement strategy.
  • Experience of designing and setting up systems and processes for managing strategic procurement programmes.
  • The ability to interact effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
