About The Position

As part of the Procurement team, you will contribute to the purchasing process in a variety of ways. To be successful, you will need to be a good communicator, adaptable, and eager to learn and collaborate with others. You should have a strong interest in procurement and supply chain management, be proactive in your approach to work, and enthusiastic about gaining real-world experience. This is a full-time (40 hours/week) hybrid internship position that will report to our Headquarters office in Chevy Chase, MD three days per week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays) and work remotely two days per week (Mondays and Fridays). Please note: If selected for an opportunity, interns are responsible for securing their own housing for the duration of the internship.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program majoring in supply chain management or another related discipline is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • Eagerness to learn, grow professionally, and be mentored.
  • Strong initiative, self-motivation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, customer service skills, teamwork skills, analytical skills, and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.

Nice To Haves

  • Any familiarity with Ariba/P2P would be a plus, but is not required.

Responsibilities

  • Learn about the procurement process from start to finish, rotating through the areas of supplier enablement, supplier relationship, and procurement service partnership.
  • Review, place, and follow up on procurement orders.
  • Reconcile items to ensure accuracy of information.
  • Collaborate with other departments at HHMI as well as vendors.
