About the position
MycoWorks is seeking a Procurement Coordinator to support the implementation of company-wide purchasing strategies. This role will be responsible for managing the purchase requisition process, collaborating with key stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with procurement strategies and policies. The Procurement Coordinator will also be involved in supplier selection, contract pricing, and supplier performance assessment. The ideal candidate should have a BS in Supply Chain or Business Management, a minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain, and expertise in a specific category.
Responsibilities
- Establish key performance metrics and benchmarks relating to purchasing and procurement
- Measure actual performance against goals on a regular basis and present results to senior management
- Communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in written form, utilizing electronic media throughout the organization
- Champion Lean initiatives
- Process daily purchase requisitions and manage the purchase order process from procurement to receipt
- Submit internal and external requisitions, including online, phone, and email orders to suppliers
- Manage the purchase requisition process and provide feedback and improvements to streamline the process
- Train MycoWorks team members and peers on the purchasing process
- Collaborate with Finance and key stakeholders to perform gap analysis, spend categorization, and drive business development
- Comply with MycoWorks procurement strategies and policies
- Support the supplier selection/bidding processes for selected purchase requests, supplier and contract pricing, and validation for category management
- Support the budget-based procurement process, including the development of key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness based on profitable supplier and organizational partnerships
- Support the supplier qualification process and manage and assess supplier performance
- Report operational metrics (KPIs) to senior management, as well as any regulatory reporting requirements related to transportation and logistics activities
- Hold a BS in Supply Chain or Business Management
- Have a minimum of 5 years demonstrating a high level of product/service expertise in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain
- Build and maintain credibility as an expert within a specific category with key stakeholders
- Lead scoping and prioritization of improvement projects and future implementations, and participate in the scoping and quoting of projects.

- Experience in scoping and prioritizing improvement projects
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in utilizing electronic media for communication
- Knowledge of Lean initiatives
- Ability to establish and measure key performance metrics
- Familiarity with budget-based procurement processes
- Experience in supplier selection and management
- Understanding of regulatory reporting requirements related to transportation and logistics activities
