The Operations Buyer plays a key role in supporting day-to-day procurement activities by assisting with contract and bid preparation, supplier performance monitoring, and procurement system execution. This role works closely with Buyers and cross-functional partners to ensure the timely and accurate execution of sourcing activities. As an operational expert in procurement systems and processes, the Operations Buyer supports data collection, analysis, reporting, and contract management related to internal contracting processes and controls. This role provides exposure to supplier negotiations, contracting fundamentals, and cross-functional collaboration with Finance, Controlling, Legal, Engineering, Supplier Management, and external suppliers. This position is well suited for candidates seeking to build a strong foundation in procurement and business operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field OR 4 years of equivalent work experience in procurement, supply chain, operations, finance, or a related business function in lieu of a degree
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and suppliers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and standard business systems; experience with procurement or ERP systems preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Internship or co-op experience in procurement, supply chain, or manufacturing environments
  • Exposure to contract documentation, supplier performance tracking, or market analysis
  • Familiarity with SAP, or similar procurement systems

Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation, coordination, documentation, and analysis of requisitions, quotes, and contracts, ensuring accurate pricing, required approvals, and internal controls are met
  • Collect, analyze, and organize technical, financial, and legal inputs for sourcing and contracting activities
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Finance, Legal, and Supplier Management teams to support reviews and approvals
  • Provide analytical support to Buyers through market research, demand trend analysis, and ad-hoc supplier reporting
  • Serve as a day-to-day operational expert for procurement systems and tools, supporting transaction execution and issue resolution
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with suppliers to support ongoing procurement operations and ensure business requirements are executed according to internal procurement guidelines and controls
