Job Description: The Category Lead supports the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for a particular category, such as data center assets (cooling units, power distribution, or fiber optics). You will bridge the gap between technical engineering requirements and commercial execution, ensuring that high-value equipment arrives on site, on time, and within budget. You will innovate through supplier partnerships, driving the sustainability goals required for next-generation data centers.

Requirements

  • Education: BS/MS in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Engineering, or similar field.
  • Experience: 3–5 years in procurement, supply chain, or a related analytical role (Finance/Operations).
  • Professional Presence: Requires strong personality for challenging confrontational situations
  • Technical Savvy: Ability to read a bill of materials (BOM) and understand the difference between critical infrastructure components (e.g., UPS vs. PDU).
  • Analytical Tools: Advanced Excel is a must; experience with SQL or Tableau is a significant advantage in tech-first companies.

Responsibilities

  • Leads, develops and executes proactive, TCO-driven sourcing strategies
  • Lead or participate in comprehensive bidding, negotiations and contract management
  • Manages cross functional internal and external relationships in support of business objectives
  • Work with internal stakeholders to optimize specifications / requirements.
  • Independently lead the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, including vendor identification, bid leveling, and commercial comparisons.
  • Draft and negotiate Statements of Work (SOWs) and Amendments, ensuring alignment with Master Service Agreements (MSAs).
