This position is eligible to work remotely anywhere in the United States with preference given to those who live in the Des Moines, Iowa area Essential Functions: Serves as procurement resource for assigned categories and/or departments through collaboration with business unit leaders. Collaborates with business units to understand the business needs, processes and procedures a supplier's products/services support. Acts as the key procurement contact for assigned business units, assisting with issue escalations and resolution, educating partners on policy, contract status, and payment processing. Leads the negotiation of the financials, contract length, and deliverable / product / service terms of supplier contracts, including implementing improvements to terms of contracts based on knowledge of business partner needs. Closely coordinates review of supplier contracts with adjacent business partners, such as Information Security, IT, Innovation, Risk Management, Privacy, and Legal, to ensure alignment between commercial, technical and legal terms and conditions of supplier contracts Leads the request process (RFx) with key suppliers in collaboration with needs and input from business units and key stakeholders. Works to identify and align supplier contracts in accordance with company policies. Provides post-contract support to business units regarding usage-based commercial terms and supports internal contract related questions. Supports and monitors supplier adherence to contracts. Develops and analyzes key reporting metrics designed to track overall efficiency of the process and internal spend data for assigned categories. Supports reporting and analysis to provide oversight of the supplier lifecycle. Maintains a level of expertise in an assigned category or categories to continue to monitor and evaluate potential new partnerships and/or tools to meet assigned category and/or business unit needs. Education & Experience:

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably business, supply chain, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Seven years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supplier management, including contract negotiation experience or related experience
  • Thorough knowledge of contracting principles and the contract negotiation process including contract lifecycle management
  • Knowledge of Workday Strategic Sourcing or Scout RFP preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including contract negotiation
  • Excellent ability to read, comprehend, and communicate contractual language to make recommendations to stakeholders
  • Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across all departments at all levels
  • Strong knowledge of the RFx process
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills, including documentation and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical ability, including strong knowledge of spend analytics
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong attention to detail, multi-tasking, organizational, and project management skills

Nice To Haves

  • Prior property and casualty insurance experience preferred
  • Relevant industry certification(s) or designation(s) preferred
