About The Position

The Procurement Business Partner acts as the Strategic liaison between procurement and CSL business units, translating strategic business goals into actionable initiatives. It involves working closely with senior leaders, acting as a trusted advisor, understanding the business priorities and objectives and translating these into an ongoing value pipeline that drives meaningful business impacts, continuous improvement and outcomes. The Procurement Business Partner liaises with Category Heads and works directly with the Operational Excellence Manager to drive excellence and continuous improvement across CSL procurement processes. This leadership position demands a strategic mindset, a commitment to performance excellence, and a focus on delivering data-driven insights enabling actionable decisions through scenario planning, and best-in-class visualization enabling faster, better and more informed decisions among key stakeholders. The role will be a key member of the Plasma Operational Leadership team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related discipline is required.
  • Minimum 8–12 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, FMCG, Customer facing, or business partnering roles, with demonstrated success in stakeholder engagement and strategic alignment.
  • Proven experience in understanding business strategies and translating them into procurement strategies and initiatives.
  • Strong background in working with senior stakeholders, including business unit leaders and enabling functions.
  • Experience supporting category strategy development and execution across direct and indirect spending.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement initiatives, manage procurement projects, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Familiarity with supplier risk oversight, compliance, and ethical sourcing practices.
  • Business acumen: Strong knowledge in customer facing business, i.e. FMCG, customer service, or plasma collection services and a very good understanding about the various strategies and best practices within the area of responsibility
  • Strategic sourcing expertise: Strong knowledge of sourcing strategies and procurement best practices to align with business objectives.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders across various departments.
  • Analytical skills: Proficiency in assessing market trends, supplier performance, and procurement data to inform decision-making.
  • Project management: Ability to manage procurement projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business needs.

Nice To Haves

  • A master’s degree (e.g., MBA) or postgraduate qualification in strategy, operations, or commercial management is preferred.
  • Professional certifications such as CIPS, CPSM, or equivalent is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Stakeholder Management Build and maintain strong relationships with senior business leaders across CSL’s global functions, acting as a trusted advisor on procurement-related matters. Understand and anticipate business needs, translating them into actionable procurement initiatives that support both short-term objectives and long-term strategic goals. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure procurement delivers measurable value and supports enterprise-wide transformation efforts.
  • Communication and Business Partnering Serve as the primary communication conduit between Procurement and business units, ensuring transparency, alignment, and responsiveness. Translate complex procurement strategies into clear, business-relevant narratives that support decision-making and stakeholder buy-in. Promote a collaborative culture by facilitating regular engagement forums, feedback loops, and joint planning sessions with internal stakeholders.
  • Business Planning Contribute to annual and long-range business planning processes by integrating procurement perspectives into budgeting, forecasting, and strategic prioritization. Identify procurement opportunities that support business growth, operational efficiency, innovation and risk mitigation. Ensure procurement plans are embedded within broader business strategies and are responsive to market dynamics and internal capability shifts. Ensure business plans and strategies are translated into sourcing category management plans and strategic sourcing events by liaising with Category Directors and Sourcing Execution Leads.
  • Strategy Setting Partner with senior stakeholders to co-develop procurement strategies that align with CSL’s corporate objectives, innovation agenda, and sustainability commitments. and support the strategies across the Plasma business unit. Support category managers in translating business requirements into sourcing strategies that deliver cost savings, quality improvements, and supplier innovation. Drive strategic alignment between procurement and business units, ensuring procurement is positioned as a value-generating function.
  • Oversight of Supplier Strategy and Risk Provide oversight and guidance on supplier strategy, ensuring alignment with business needs, risk appetite, and compliance requirements. Collaborate with risk and compliance teams to assess supplier risk profiles, monitor performance, and implement mitigation strategies. Ensure supplier relationships are managed proactively, with a focus on resilience, ethical sourcing, and long-term value creation.
  • Value Creation and Innovation Champion procurement-led innovation by identifying opportunities for process optimization, supplier collaboration, and technology enablement. Promote continuous improvement through stakeholder feedback, performance analysis, and benchmarking against industry best practices. Drive initiatives that enhance procurement’s contribution to business outcomes, including cost efficiency, speed to market, and customer satisfaction.
