About The Position

The MU Work+ Procurement Assistant position supports the Procurement & Compliance Specialist executing entry-level procurement tasks and other administrative duties to facilitate smooth and efficient procurement operations at Butler County Regional Transit Authority. Responsibilities include processing requisitions and Purchase Orders, vendor communication, procurement file record-keeping and external reporting. Works under supervision, exercising limited initiative and independent judgment.

  • Occasional periods of squatting, kneeling, reaching and twisting.
  • Moderate to advanced exposure to Microsoft Office Suite or a keen desire to learn quickly is required.
  • Applicants should be working toward a four-year degree in business, pre-law, public administration, government history or another related field.
  • BCRTA will train qualified candidates to use industry specific applications.
  • In progress a four-year degree with Miami University, Regional Campuses
  • BS, BA
  • Clean motor vehicle record, no more than 2 points.

Responsibilities

  • Communicates with staff and vendors by phone, by email, and by other written means to confer regarding status of procurements
  • Perform a wide variety of administrative office work with limited supervision, on a continuous basis; compose general correspondence and letters.
  • Compile and maintain procurement records and files.
  • Assist with small purchase planning processes including, but not limited to, processing submitted requisitions, maintaining written procurement history.
  • Conduct due diligence research on vendors to determine eligibility for award, including contacting references; documenting all due diligence to report to the Procurement & Compliance Specialist
  • Ensure that contract files are complete and compliant with BCRTA, State and FTA audit requirements
  • Perform all duties in accordance with internal Procurement Guidelines templates
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Procurement and Compliance Specialist
  • Assist management with special projects, if needed.
  • Maintain composure and act thoughtfully under pressure.
