About The Position

This position is for a Procurement Analyst II with 4-8 years of experience supporting Federal Government contracting offices, either as former 1102 civilian/military, or as contractor support. The role primarily involves accessing and reporting from NASA systems for management reports and oversight of procurement operations at Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston, Texas. Additionally, the analyst will support the Policy Branch by performing policy and information management functions, including preparing and maintaining policy documentation, interpreting and disseminating procurement regulations, and creating/updating procurement-related forms and templates. The position also requires monitoring changes to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and the NASA FAR Supplement (NFS), as well as procurement policy decisions from NASA HQ.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business and 4 years of experience, or Associates and 6 years experience, or HS Diploma and 8 years of experience
Relevant experience in procurement, policy analysis, contracting, or related areas
Be able to gain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
Expertise with verbal and written communications
Comfortable working with files on a SharePoint Site
Proficient and confidence working with Word, Excel, and/or PowerPoint for document preparation and briefings
Proficiency and confidence in learning and working within IT systems and tools (some PC based; some NASA system based) and proactively reaching out to resolve any computer/systems/tools issues which are dependencies for completing work assignments.
Actual experience working within a team usining a variety of communication environments: email, video communications, phone, and face-to-face.
Proactively works with teammates and customers to complete and follow-up on assignments.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
Must be a self-starter.

Responsibilities

Serve as a procurement analyst at JSC in support of our Business Systems Support Specialist.
Pull reports from various NASA procurement systems and provide recommendations for action.
Follow-up with supported procurement offices for necessary action.
Provide policy and information management functions similar to, but not limited to, preparing and maintaining policy documentation; interpretation and dissemination of procurement regulations; and creating, updating and maintaining procurement related forms and templates.
Monitor, update and maintain Agency organizational and policy related information on Agency internal and external websites and databases.
Monitor changes issued to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and the NASA FAR Supplement (NFS) along with procurement policy decisions made by NASA HQ (e.g. Procurement Information Circulars (PICs)) and shall provide these, along with a description of the impact upon current operations, for dissemination.
All work will be subject to final review and approval by the appropriate government authority before dissemination.
