About The Position

The Procurement Advisor supports effective spend management by leading low-to-medium complexity sourcing initiatives while actively managing tail-end spend across multiple indirect categories. This role blends tactical purchasing with strategic sourcing, supplier rationalization, and continuous improvement, partnering closely with Category Managers to deliver value, ensure compliance, and meet urgent business needs.

Requirements

  • Post secondary education in business, finance, supply chain, operations or related studies.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Exposure to contract management and supplier performance frameworks.
  • 5–7 years of progressive procurement experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing tail-end spend and cross-category sourcing.
  • Strong commercial and negotiation skills within delegated authority.
  • Experience supporting decentralized operations and field-based teams.
  • Advanced Excel and Analytical Capability.
  • Advanced internal and external stakeholder management and executive communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • SCMP, CPSM, CPP, or equivalent designation (or in progress).
  • Experience in Workday (ERP system).
  • Experience in propane, fuel distribution, energy, utilities, or logistics.
  • North American, multi-location experience (for managing tail-end spend and cross-category sourcing).

Responsibilities

  • Reduce maverick spend by implementing catalogs, preferred suppliers, and buying channels.
  • Identify cost-reduction, cost-avoidance, and demand-management opportunities.
  • Negotiate pricing, service levels, and commercial terms within delegated authority.
  • Manage supplier relationships for assigned tail and tactical suppliers, including performance reviews.
  • Support contract lifecycle management, including renewals, amendments, and compliance tracking.
  • Ensure continuity of supply during peak season and emergency events.
  • Balance speed, safety, cost, and compliance in a regulated operating environment.
  • Maintain vendor, catalog, and contract data in ERP / P2P systems (e.g., Workday, SAP, Oracle).
  • Support procurement maturity initiatives including P2P adoption, Catalog enablement, Supplier consolidation, Policy and control enhancements
