About The Position

Position Summary: Responsible for the operation of specified machinery in the assigned area, with a primary focus on the molding line, the operator is directly responsible for the safe operation of melters and tempering units, as well as documenting critical quality information throughout the shift to ensure that the operation is running within the specified parameters regarding product appearance, weight, and tempers. The successful Processing Operator will be able to assess equipment operations reliability and perform routine repairs, adjustments, and malfunction troubleshooting. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Works in a safe and efficient manner. 2. Properly identify the correct molds for the daily production run, while maintaining a watchful eye to ensure that the molds do not become loose. 3. Ensuring appropriate materials are available and issued to the specific job based on the filling of the molding. 4. Provide confirmation that there is ZERO cross contamination of products, especially those containing peanut products. 5. Follow all SQF (Safe Quality Foods), and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) policies and guidelines. 6. Operates and maintains machinery, equipment, and tools in a safe and proficient manner according to standards, guidelines, and instructions. 7. Determine by performing routine inspection, the repair and maintenance necessary to prevent breakdowns or lost production time. 8. Using our ERP system (ROSS), issue and return raw materials to production jobs. 9. Takes corrective actions in solving production problems to the root cause level. 10. Coordinate with sanitation when orders are complete for the day to properly sanitize the machinery for future use. 11. Make any necessary repairs within your scope, and/or utilizing maintenance when necessary. 12. Assist maintenance and sanitation when making equipment or product changeovers. 13. Utilizing Microsoft Teams to keep Packing and Demand Planning informed of any information that could result in downtime. 14. Able to maintain accurate records of production reports, inspection reports, downtime logs, and other production documentation. 15. Work with a restless sense of urgency with a can-do attitude and what can I do to help mentality. 16. During shutdown periods, operators are responsible for cleaning the enrobing areas and performing any washouts listed on the schedule. 17. Assist department manager with production scheduling and associate assignments. 18. Initiate purchase orders for parts or supplies needed in department. 19. Always use the Microsoft Teams application to keep packing and demand planning informed of any issues that could result in downtime. 20. Maintaining proper temperatures and weights of the centers of all molded products 21. Not only responsible for the chocolate filters, but also responsible for the magnetic chocolate filters that need to be changed monthly. 22. If time allows, cleaning of the molding line and the depositors is expected of the operator. Unless needed in other areas.

Requirements

  • The ability to read, write, and comprehend in English.
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations- add, subtract, multiply, divide.
  • Frequently required to bend, stoop, twist, turn over an 8-hour shift
  • Ability to walk on hard surfaces for 8 hours a day.
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds.
  • Responsible for machine condition and communicating any issues with the machine to the supervisor.
  • Operators must ensure efficiency, operational conformance, product quality and continuous improvement.
  • Prior to starting production on an order, verify that the correct chocolate is being used, the chocolate is within the specified temper and weight ranges, and that all the appropriate materials are being issued to the job.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Record data on an hourly basis while maintaining a cleanly production area

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years of manufacturing experience with experience in the operation of production machines preferred but not required
