The Processing Engineer I maximizes efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, processing methods, work force utilization, and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Coordinates manufacturing launch for new or revised processes and/or products. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties may be assigned. Assists in the research, design and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods and production equipment. Develops, maintains and update detailed layouts, work instruction and process specification for all processes and for the processing equipment. Design the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results. Analysis of the critical processes performance; design and develop tests and/or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment for recommended processing methods. Improves chemical processing practices and standards to improve quality and efficiency Assist with processing new parts and routines routed through the factory. Identify parts and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification. Able to design and develop tool design (fixtures) with use of computer assisted design applications and programs. Able to perform the re-engineering process of existing parts as needed for improved manufacturability. Designs, monitors, and implements chemical plating processes, titration schedules, etc. Represents processing on cross-functional teams; prepares all documentation and represents the processing department during the internal and external audits. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under general supervision with a certain degree of creativity and latitude as required. Responsible for attending all Safety training provided and for adhering to all HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements, and safe operating procedures at all times. Required to bring any known or suspected nonconformance for all company procedures or legal requirements to management’s attention immediately. Continually seek opportunities to improve our HSE performance by establishing objectives and targets, measuring progress, and reporting our results. Other duties may be assigned.
