The Metal Spinning Process Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining metal spinning equipment to produce high-quality metal components according to specifications. This role requires expertise in metal spinning techniques, programmable and template spinning lathes, precision measurement, and adherence to safety and quality standards. As a technical lead, this role helps train and mentor team members to maintain workflow and meet production goals. What you will get to do: · Set up and operate programmable and template spinning lathes and associated equipment for production runs. · Interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine specifications, tolerances, and select appropriate tooling and materials. · Monitor spinning processes, test sample material/punches/dies, and make adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and productivity. · Perform machine adjustments, implement process improvements, and troubleshoot tooling, materials, or machine performance to minimize downtime. · Inspect finished parts for quality and compliance with specifications using precision measuring tools. · Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and organization of spinning equipment, storage areas, cabinets, and documentation. · Create and maintain process documents, set-up procedures, and accurate production records. · Communicate effectively during shift transitions and collaborate with engineering, quality, and support departments to improve processes and resolve issues. · Train, mentor, and support set-up technicians, assistants, and operators to maintain workflow and standards. · Monitor productivity by cycle times and adjust processes to meet production goals. · Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and quality standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in metal fabrication or machining preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in metal spinning or related metal forming processes.
  • Strong understanding of metal properties and forming techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • High degree of mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with quality standards and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
