About The Position

PURPOSE: To provide supervisory leadership, efficient management and creative problem solving, in department related plant operations. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS : Creation of daily Process Schedule based upon plant dispatch, equipment availability and optimal batch practices Generation of daily throughput and Earned Standard Hour plans to meet Process, Weld, Waterjet and plant operational objectives Scheduling equipment availability for preventative and unplanned maintenance events Communication of production schedule requirements to supervision, upstream supplying departments, Maintenance and Engineering support Ensure organization and availability of paperwork, procedures, product, equipment, supplies and necessary production support Coordination of department personnel assignments to assure production coverage Management of Process supplies budget Manufacturing analysis to reach peak efficiency. Manufacturing improvement/refinement review. Identify and implement ideas for productivity and quality improvements Support adherence to and implementation of Grafton Quality systems Meet daily with supervisors and managers of all production departments to prioritize schedules and plan around obstacles. Take ownership of department P&L report. Monitor and control labor, expenses, and services. Take on additional duties as assigned by the Director of Operations

Requirements

  • Equivalent to a four- year bachelor’s degree
  • S./ B.A (engineering discipline preferred) or equivalent work experience
  • 5 plus years supervisory experience preferred
  • Very strong inter-personal skills
  • Leadership ability
  • Management acumen
  • Needed is a proactive, self-confident, assertive, dedicated, engaged (bordering on passionate), can do businessperson with a natural leadership style
  • Open-minded, team oriented, detailed oriented and thick skinned
  • Strong computer/system skills

Nice To Haves

  • Shop floor scheduling experience preferred
  • LEAN Manufacturing concept implementation experience preferred
  • Exposure to Theory of Constraints throughput and inventory management preferred
  • Other or substitute qualifications as determined by the Operations Manager
