About the position

The Process Safety Program Manager at AmeriGas is responsible for overseeing Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Program (RMP) compliance across all AmeriGas facilities. This role involves ensuring that all operations adhere to federal, state, and local regulations, facilitating training, and developing compliance action plans to maintain safety standards. The manager will also engage with regulatory agencies and lead initiatives to enhance safety protocols within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage compliance action plans for propane terminals and cylinder exchange plants to achieve 100% regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor and update OSHA's Process Safety Management (PSM) and EPA's Risk Management Plan (RMP).
  • Schedule and coordinate compliance training for operators on PSM elements.
  • Facilitate updates of Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) at each terminal.
  • Outsource NFPA 58 audits and implement necessary corrections.
  • Organize regulatory documents in a central electronic storage for easy access.
  • Attend seminars to stay updated on PSM, RMP, NFPA 58, and other relevant regulations.
  • Develop relationships with jurisdictional agencies for ongoing compliance.
  • Review terminal projects for potential impacts on regulatory status.
  • Assist terminal managers with responses to regulatory audit findings.
  • Conduct self-audits to ensure all necessary permits are in place.
  • Create a common format for regulatory filings in ISO format.
  • Provide updates to terminal Security Plans and facilitate employee training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering.
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in safety operations.
  • Field experience in a hands-on environment.
  • Knowledge of propane or energy-related operations is preferred.
  • Fully competent in government safety operating regulations.
