Shift/Hours/Location: M-F, 8am-5pm, Onsite, Moses Lake, WA WHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON Provide oversight and ensure compliance with all MLI Process Safety Information (PSI) for each individual department. Ensure accessibility of all PSI to affected staff. Lead and Facilitate Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) on existing and new processes. Manage the site PHA schedule and recommendation implementation plan. Provide oversight for the site Management of Change (MOC) Process and be an active member of the MLI Control Change Review Board (CCRB). Participate on teams responsible to implement new products and processes to ensure Process Safety Management (PSM) compliance. Interact with the local Fire Marshal office as needed to ensure compliance with emergency response systems and requirements per Process Safety Management (PSM). Provide oversight for Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR). Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations for incidents and near misses. Active team member in all accident / incident reports, investigations, root cause analysis, and provide recommendations to prevent or mitigate recurrence. Provide mentoring and training for site personnel in all Process Safety Management (PSM) activities. Uphold all MLI policies and “MLI Code of Conduct.” Strict compliance with Environmental and Safety regulations. Compliance and individual accountability with the MLI Quality System and ISO Registration is required. It is the employee’s commitment to ensure that the Company’s actual practices and procedures are exercised as directed. Perform other duties as assigned to support and sustain a high performing team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry.
  • Knowledgeable in the requirements of OSHA 1910.119 / WAC 296-67 PSM regulations.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in Highly Hazardous Chemical Processes or petrochemical process plant in operations or PSM involvement.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and clients.
  • Ability to be familiar with the use of design software, as well as word processing and spreadsheets is expected.
  • Must be well organized and have the ability to multitask.

  • Familiar with hazardous chemical processes.
