About The Position

As a Process Quality Engineer , you will be responsible for ensuring that the materials, components, and products manufactured at our Luling facility meet the required quality standards, specifications, and compliance requirements and ensure they align with organizational and customer expectations. This position requires an independent, self-motivated, highly skilled Engineer with experience and extensive knowledge of Quality in a manufacturing facility to manage and oversee product with minimal oversight and guidance on timelines shorter than usual in the industry. This position is an on-site position at X-Bow's facility in Luling, TX with some travel (10%). Process Quality Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring that the X-Bow manufactures and delivers high-quality products, and components in a fast-paced environment. This position will assist in developing, defining, and implementing quality work instructions, defining appropriate inspection points supporting several programs and ensuring contract compliance, as applicable. Position is integral with the on-site Operations Team and the remote supporting organizations.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering or Sciences
  • 1 year experience within Quality
  • 3 years experienced within Manufacturing
  • To comply with U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including ITAR, you must be a U.S. citizen, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
  • A candidate who combines strong communication, organization, and management skills with broad interests and experience.
  • Creativity and methodical problem-solving are essential, as are energy, flexibility, and adaptability.

Responsibilities

  • Quality Requirements and Standards: Define and communicate quality requirements, specifications, and standards to operations via written manufacturing work instructions and verbal communication. Ensure operations personnel understand and comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Inspection and Testing: Collaborate with teams to establish inspection criteria and acceptance standards. Oversee manufacturing inspections and testing to verify conformance to engineering requirements. Define, review and conduct First Article Inspection Inspections.
  • Process Oversight: Developing, implementing, and maintaining quality control processes throughout the manufacturing lifecycle. Ensuring that manufacturing processes comply with industry standards (such as AS9100, ISO 9001) and regulatory requirements (like FAA, EASA regulations).
  • Quality Assurance: Conducting process audits and inspections to verify adherence to quality standards. Implementing statistical process control (SPC) methods to monitor and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identifying areas for process improvement and implementing corrective actions. Leading or participating in lean manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Developing and maintaining quality documentation, including process control plans, work instructions, and standard operating procedures. Preparing quality reports and presenting findings to management.   • Nonconformance Management: Investigating quality issues and nonconformances. Implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address quality problems.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Working closely with engineering, production, and other departments to integrate quality considerations into all aspects of the manufacturing process.
  • Technology Integration: Implementing and utilizing quality management software and systems. Staying current with emerging technologies and methodologies in quality assurance.
  • Risk Management: Identifying potential quality risks in processes and products. Developing and implementing risk mitigation strategies.
