About The Position

The reliability engineer plays a key role in reducing equipment failures and optimizing asset performance by establishing and utilizing a robust PM strategy and plant item reliability framework. Their primary job responsibilities include: Failure Analysis & Problem Solving: Analyze equipment history and perform Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) to identify and eliminate recurring issues. Maintenance Program Management: Define, develop, and refine Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) programs based on reliability analysis and cost/benefit assessments. Asset Management Strategy: Ensure assets have a defined Asset Strategy with associated job plans (proactive and reactive), adjusting strategies based on failure data analysis. New Installation Review & Reliability Integration: Participate in the approval process for new installations to ensure maintainability and reliability are considered from the outset, as well as act as a technical resource for others and develop/manage CBM processes, including procedures for verification. Condition Monitoring & Data Utilization: Work with condition monitoring personnel and incorporate this information into decision-making processes, such as shutdown planning. In addition, alert stores to changes in stocking levels based on task frequency and analyze spares usage and failure data for proper stocking level determination. Statistical Analysis & Equipment Improvement: Perform statistical analysis on failure and work order data to guide Asset Strategy adjustments, develop failure codes for the work order system, and make specific recommendations for improving machinery performance and reliability based on data analysis.
