About The Position

Join a leading Fortune 500 organization as a Process Modeling Engineer, where you will apply advanced solid mechanics and numerical modeling techniques to optimize manufacturing processes for glass and ceramic materials. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex physical problems and translating them into predictive models that drive product performance and cost efficiency.

Requirements

  • Strong background in solid mechanics and numerical modeling
  • Hands-on experience with FEA tools (e.g., Abaqus, ANSYS)
  • Proficiency in mathematical modeling and programming for simulation
  • Knowledge of material behavior, particularly polymers or soft materials
  • Ability to translate real-world problems into validated computational models

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with thin film mechanics and material characterization
  • Background in process or product engineering
  • Familiarity with mechanical testing methods and experimental validation
  • Experience leading data analysis and cross-functional technical initiatives

Responsibilities

  • Develop and apply analytical and numerical models (FEA/BEM) to simulate material and process behavior
  • Model thermo-mechanical stress, deformation, and residual stress in glass and ceramic components
  • Build transient thermal-stress models to evaluate heating and cooling cycles
  • Simulate contact, fixturing, and handling to reduce defects and variability
  • Analyze thin film/coating stresses and interfacial delamination risks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional global teams and communicate technical findings clearly
  • Support product engineering teams and contribute to customer-facing problem solving
  • Author technical reports, publications, and invention disclosures
