Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) in St. Louis, MO is looking for Process Mechanic - Tube Benders! Process Mechanics may also be required to perform sheet metal fabrication, spray painting, welding, chemical processing, plating, and hand/machine sewing. Individual job duties may include: Setup and run power operated NC-controlled tube benders, inspect, pressure test, clean vapor degrease, swage, square, burr, mark finish trim, cut, identify, mask, cap, preserve, and apply color identification. Install several types of fittings including Wiggins, Dynatube, DME, Gamah, Ringlok, Perma Swage, Cryofit, Sierracin Harrison, and AN. Perform numerous end form operations including size, veil, bead, shrink, saddle, flare, expand, and reduce. Route and trial fit tubes on aircraft and mock-ups to determine size and shape of tubes. Must be able to read and work to blueprints, visual aids, work instructions, and process specifications. Use a variety of hand tools, power tools, equipment, and measuring instruments, tube benders, coordinate measuring machines, band saws, manual benders, swaging machines, pressure test benches, vapor degreasers, micrometers, protractors and calipers. As a member of a team environment, Process mechanics participate in decisions that affect the team which include: manage daily work schedules, commit to team goals, objectives and metrics (cost, quality, schedule, cycle, safety),coordinate team communication, seek appropriate performance training, and participate in team meetings. Team members are also expected to initiate process improvements and implement lean best practices. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. Security Clearance and Export Control Requirements: This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following: Composite fabrication, layup, drill, and repair Assemble precision assemblies, set up and operate ream fixtures to drill, ream, counter sink, spot face, hone and bore for mating major assemblies. Assemble a variety of prototype assemblies ranging from tool fixtures to other assets with minimal engineering guidance Perform engineering test of production parts and equipment in collaboration with mechanical design, industrial engineering and production operations. Partner with design to modify and fabricate tools, parts and build prototype tooling. Periodically inspect tools for repair. Develop, prepare, and maintain all documentation related to design, fabrication, and manufacturing of engineering test and production tooling and equipment and associated calibration test and equipment. Bench assemble electrical or electronic components into assemblies and systems before methods and procedures have been established. Machine new and replacement parts for precision-built tools and machine parts. Painting, fill/fair, and special coatings application Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
