About The Position

Now Hiring: Industrial Maintenance Mechanic – Process Equipment Site: High Point Latex Plant Compensation: Starting at $26.00/hour, commensurate with experience Schedule: Day Shift, Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM Quick apply: Text “PPG” to +1 412-968-8670 to start and schedule an interview. A day in the life You start by opening the CMMS on your tablet, reviewing preventive maintenance work orders and prioritizing tasks around production needs. As you move through the plant, you audit equipment and safety checks, then dive into a mix of mechanical and electrical troubleshooting—from 24VDC circuits and 120–480VAC systems to tracking 4–20 mA signals and HMI-controlled processes. Before lunch, you swap a CPVC section, service air-actuated valves, and inspect the steam boiler. In the afternoon, you might overhaul a pneumatic pump, adjust an air compressor, or tune a water cooling/treatment system. When a line break is required, you execute containment and cleaning procedures, then restore pumps, valves, instrumentation, and associated piping to spec. You also keep the facility in top shape—doors, outlets, lights, A/C filters, and shelving—while practicing 5S standards. Work at height is routine for you: ladders, scissor lifts, even the top of tanks. Throughout, you follow chemical PPE requirements, Lock-Out/Tag-Out, and other life-critical rules, and you coordinate contractors on site to the same standards. You document work in the CMMS, manage parts inventory, and communicate classed-environment restrictions to coworkers and partners.
