About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a hybrid Process Improvement Specialist - Sourcing & Procurement to join our team in Burlington or Durham, North Carolina. Work Schedule Hybrid schedule: three days on-site in Burlington or Durham, NC (Wednesday required), two days remote Flexibility to support stakeholders across multiple time zones as needed Job Responsibilities Identifies true process, governance, and handoff inefficiencies and converts them into prioritized, actionable recommendations. Enhances end-to-end visibility across sourcing, procurement, and adjacent functions by mapping processes, identifying gaps, and implementing tools and dashboards that improve transparency and alignment. Standardizes processes and clarifies ownership by assessing regional and cross‑functional workflows, defining clear accountability, and driving adoption of consistent, scalable operating practices. Shifts the organization from reactive to proactive operations by analyzing demand signals, identifying trends, and recommending forward‑looking strategies that shape the sourcing agenda rather than respond to it. Synthesizes fragmented inputs into a unified operating model by consolidating data, insights, and stakeholder feedback into cohesive recommendations, frameworks, and narratives that support decision‑making and transformation. Accelerates decision‑making quality and speed by providing data‑driven insights, standardized reporting, and clear visibility into sourcing performance, risks, and opportunities. Elevates process discipline and execution excellence by promoting Lean principles, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and reinforcing best-practice sourcing methodologies across the organization. Creates, maintains and optimizes Smartsheet dashboards and statistical control charts for tracking/trending hard savings, cost avoidance, rebates, and sourcing KPIs. Leverages AI-driven tools to identify process inefficiencies, generate data to back recommendations that accelerate decision-making, monitor contract compliance, Supplier management and improve operational performance. Ensures data accuracy and integrity across global sourcing initiatives. Monitors and reports on realized savings, cost avoidance, and rebate programs across all sourcing categories. Forecasts and trends financial impacts including price increases and tariff implications on global operations. Leads and facilitates strategic collaboration meetings with Finance leaders and category managers across Direct, Indirect and Transformative Sourcing sub-categories. Develops compelling executive-level presentations and dashboards that highlight sourcing achievements, financial impact, and strategic initiatives. Works collaboratively with diverse functional stakeholders and understands key roles and responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 years or more years of experience in process improvement.
  • Understanding of a clear, fact-based view of Sourcing and Procurement organizational structure, role clarity, decision rights, and where misalignment or duplication exists.
  • Demonstrates the confidence to challenge assumptions constructively and poses critical, thought‑provoking questions.
  • Experience in life sciences or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Ability and understanding to forecast and trend hard savings, cost avoidance, rebates, and all other financial impact metrics related to Sourcing negotiations.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional meetings with Finance and Sourcing Category Teams.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Demonstrated ability to identify inefficiencies and drive process improvement initiatives across sourcing operations.
  • Analytical skills and ability to learn statistical techniques and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to translate business problems into AI‑supported solutions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools.
  • Ability to read and manipulate data from multiple data sources.
  • Familiarity with global sourcing practices and compliance requirements.
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Data Analysis, Business, Operations, Industrial Engineering, Business Analytics, Global Trade/Commerce, and Management Science.
  • 1 or more years of experience using Smartsheet
  • Six Sigma Green Belt
  • 1 or more years of experience with DMAIC Methodology
  • 1 or more years of experience with process mapping, cause-and-effect diagrams, and basic statistical analysis to identify and address process inefficiencies.
