Join our team and discover why we are a top veteran employer and Certified Great Place to Work We are looking for a Quality Assurance/Process Improvement Professional with a keen focus on quality control. The position is responsible for the Quality Assurance of procedures and outputs for FAA National Airspace System (NAS) Second Level Engineering (SLE) support of NAS hardware and software. The position is responsible for identifying mistakes and non-conformity issues to stakeholder requirements and quality standards within AJW-1430, the FAA's Beacon & Terminal Surveillance Team. The ideal candidate is a reliable and competent professional whose approval is necessary for the release of production level services. The goal is to assure high quality of our services and second level engineering support for the NAS. The candidate will perform, administer, and advise on work concerned with assuring the quality of products acquired, created, and used by the Federal Government. Job duties include, but are not limited to: • The development of plans and programs for achieving and maintaining product quality throughout an item's life cycle. • Participating in process management, process improvement, operations analysis, and quality control / quality assurance activities.• Supporting the development and implementation of re-engineering and modernization projects. • Preventing the production of defects and verifying adherence to quality plans and requirements.• Analysis and investigation of adverse quality trends and initiation of corrective action. • Acts as an individual contributor and/or member of a team and may perform some leadership functions for small projects/programs or other work activities.• Demonstrates considerable independence in planning time and helping the team leader to plan and use assigned resources to accomplish projects/programs/activities. • Works with other employees, both contract and federal, across multiple organizations. • Appraise stakeholder requirements and make sure they are satisfied.• Report any malfunctions, errors, and shortcomings to management.• Review and study current standards and policies• Keep records of quality reports, system tests, reviews, and relevant documentation• Ensure that all legal and contractual standards are achieved.• Assignments often require reviews of policies and precedents under the limited guidance of a Technical Manager.• May sometimes help develop and recommend solutions for complex problems.• Performs multiple and varying assignments under the limited direction of a Technical Manager, or experienced professional. Please note that the duties of this position require a keen application of quality assurance principles, analytical ability, application of quality assurance principles, and knowledge of pertinent product characteristics, associated services, support processes, and techniques.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in business administration or relevant field is desirable.
  • An associate's degree or high school diploma in lieu of a bachelor's degree is acceptable depending on other qualifications and experience.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification or proven experience in quality assurance or relevant role. (ISO 9000 etc.)
  • Knowledge of methodologies of quality assurance and standards
  • Understanding of data analysis/statistical methods
  • Knowledge of requirements tracking software
  • Excellent organizational abilities
  • Great attention to detail and a results driven approach
