About The Position

All hours will be worked on site. The Process Improvement Engineer II position is responsible for serving employees of Unity Point Health – Des Moines by using scientific methods that guide teams and improve processes, and to advance ingraining process improvement into the culture. This position analyzes data using statistics and engineering tools to solve problems including regression analysis, hypothesis testing, queuing theory, optimization, process capability and capacity, control charting, critical path method and systematic layout planning. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or related Engineering field or applied science
  • Minimum 3 years experience in process improvement methods and tools, facilitation and/or training in healthcare
  • Certification in Quality, Lean, Six Sigma (Yellow/Green) or related

Responsibilities

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, and work with others to define problems.
  • Capture data via information systems, time studies, or direct observations.
  • Enter, organize and clean data for analysis.
  • Create process maps.
  • Predicts testable changes could improve the problem.
  • Partners with key stakeholders and managers and provides consultation as a subject matter expert
  • Investigates core business processes, and develops recommendations for improvement and facilitates implementation to resolve matters of significance on behalf of management
  • Effectively facilitates a variety of audiences through a variety of methods
  • Carries out major assignments in conducting operations by improving processes and efficiencies
  • Organizes work efforts and accountability in a project environment
  • Prepares documentation and supplies
  • Lead and coordinate process improvement events and team meetings
