The Process Engineering Technician supports the development, optimization, and maintenance of manufacturing and remanufacturing processes for electronic components and assemblies. This role ensures production efficiency, product quality, and compliance with safety and industry standards while collaborating closely with engineering, quality, and operations teams. Requirements

  • Associate degree in electronics, manufacturing technology, mechatronics, or related field; or 3 years hands-on experience.
  • Experience with electronic assembly or repair processes (soldering, component replacement, PCB handling).
  • Ability to read electronic schematics, technical drawings, and process documentation.
  • Proficiency with measurement tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes, calipers, AOI systems).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in remanufacturing environments (automotive electronics, industrial controls, consumer electronics, etc.).
  • Proficiency in a range of remanufacturing processes and procedures.
  • IPC certification (IPC-A-610, IPC-7711/7721).
  • Familiarity with Navision and data-collection tools.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and improve remanufacturing processes for electronic devices and circuit boards.
  • Troubleshoot production issues related to equipment, processes, and workflows.
  • Monitor process performance using data collection and analysis tools; recommend improvements to reduce scrap, improve yield, and enhance throughput.
  • Validate process changes through testing, trials, and capability studies.
  • Support setup of electronic rework equipment (e.g., soldering stations, reflow ovens, BGA rework stations, inspection systems).
  • Identify tooling, fixtures, and test equipment required for remanufacturing and repair operations.
  • Assist in qualifying new equipment and developing standard work instructions (SWIs).
  • Participate in root-cause analysis, risk assessments, PFMEA updates, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Work with production supervisors and technicians on day-to-day technical support needs.
  • Support new product launch activities related to remanufacturing workflows.
  • Coordinate with quality and engineering teams to implement improvements and resolve process issues.
  • Works independently with limited degree of oversight within defined processes and procedures.
