Assists the Engineering department with the maintenance of the traveler system, learn the basics of our engineering processes. Interns may be assigned projects with some degree of ownership dependent on knowledge and skillset. Interns may be assigned to manipulate and inspect parts and obtain data in support of reverse engineering activities.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Materials, Industrial Engineering or another related Engineering degree required.
Strong computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
Regularly: Lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
Frequently: Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and reach with hands and arms. Use hands to type, handle, or feel. Close vision, distance vision, and focus adjustment.
Initial hearing and vision exams must be successfully passed.
Due to government regulation only US persons (U.S. citizen, U.S. naturalized citizen, U.S. permanent resident, holder of U.S. approved political asylee or refugee status) may be considered for this role.
Any offer of employment will also be conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen in accordance with company policy and applicable federal and state regulations.

Responsibilities

Assists in creation and improvement of manufacturing processes utilizing engineering input, engineering drawings, process mapping, and machine capabilities.
Assists in development and refinement of work instructions, work scopes and Travelers
Works under the direction and supervision from a mentor or other engineering team members to perform reverse engineering tasks related to the development of new repairs, products, technical procedures and/or processes
Assists in the creation and improvement of manufacturing processes utilizing engineering judgement, drawings, process mapping, and machine capabilities
Collects data and maintains metrics using Microsoft Office suite
Maintains safe and orderly work areas, understands and is compliant with organization’s policies and procedures
Works safely following all health, safety and environmental rules and policies.
