Job Summary To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Summer Automation Engineering Intern located in Coopersville, MI. Reporting to the Process Engineering Manager, the Summer Process Engineering Intern will be responsible to solve complex problems and generate new ideas for a global organization; while utilizing creativity and innovation to develop entrepreneurial skills. Involved with projects which matter to the business and help achieve company goals. Work on challenging projects in support of real-time business issues, to develop skills and experiences.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled undergrad, pursuing degree in Engineering or related field
  • Strong organizational, analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong verbal, presentation and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate with others
  • Self-motivated, high energy and strong time management skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and team orientation
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to take lead and drive for results
  • Available to work 40 hours/week (in-person) for the duration of the internship assignment
  • Currently enrolled in 4-year accredited university
  • 3.0 minimum GPA

Responsibilities

  • Assist with manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Provides manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests.
  • Interface with hardware, power and other peers to understand system architecture and design constraints.
  • Create mechanical design concepts for various products and clients using mechanical tools.
  • Assist with the design mechanisms improve installation and serviceability.
  • Assist with testing and execution experiments for mechanical system optimization.
  • Work with the team to build and test prototypes.
  • Diagnose and make recommendation on prototypes, assembly or design failures.
