In this role, you will: • Perform a variety of process engineering activities for Company products under the guidance of a Process Engineer. • Support the evaluation and resolution of manufacturing problems by collaborating with engineering, operations, and other internal teams. • Develop new manufacturing processes and refine existing ones using applied engineering and analytical techniques. • Design, execute, and analyze experiments to characterize processes, including application of statistical methods and introductory Six Sigma tools. • Assist in developing process specifications and identifying appropriate test methods to ensure compliance. • Contribute to ongoing problem solving, continuous improvement efforts, and documentation of process refinements. • Communicate technical findings clearly to support engineering and business decision making. What you will need to succeed: • You are pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline. • You are able to manage multiple tasks and priorities and see projects through to completion. • You can communicate effectively with both technical and non technical audiences, verbally and in writing. • You have strong problem solving abilities, including identifying issues, collecting data, analyzing information, and drawing valid conclusions. • You are eager to learn technical aspects of products and processes within your area of responsibility. • You have general computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Project), and can learn additional engineering or statistical software as needed. • Interest in or familiarity with Six Sigma concepts and experimental design is a plus. What you can expect from us: • Hands on exposure to real-world process engineering challenges and manufacturing environments. • Mentorship and guidance from experienced Process Engineers who will help you grow your technical and professional skill set. • Opportunities to design experiments, analyze process data, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. • A collaborative and supportive engineering team invested in your success. • A 40 hour per week internship with potential schedule flexibility, depending on business needs. • Engaging work in office, laboratory, and industrial settings with appropriate safety training and protective equipment provided. What you can expect from us: • Exposure to full cycle product support projects, from problem identification through validation and implementation • A very friendly, supportive, and engaged engineering and science team that is eager to mentor, coach, and help you grow • Meaningful business exposure and insight into how engineering decisions impact customers and products • Opportunities for hands on experimentation and problem solving for interns who take initiative • A 40 hour per week position requiring an on site presence typically 3–4 days per week, with schedule flexibility • Pay rate of $25/hr (dependent on skillset and experience) • Internship timeframe: June – August 2026 Why IDEXX?
