Your Opportunity In this position as a Co-op/Summer/Intern Student, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a team of engineers and designers on multiple projects for a range of clients. This is a great opportunity for a motivated, energetic individual who wants to challenge their abilities in a dynamic work environment. The role of a Co-op/Summer/Intern Student is to perform a variety of assignments within the process engineering discipline under the direct supervision of a Senior Designer or Engineer. Tasks may include preparing drawings and assisting with the design of process systems to support various facility types.

  • Working knowledge of software programs including AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Working knowledge of fluid and heat transfer calculations.
  • Commitment to a culture of safety.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering from an accredited university or similar.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ASPEN and other process modeling and simulation software packages is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with and assist Chemical and Process Engineers and Designers in the design of semiconductor facility systems, including specialty gas distribution, bulk chemical delivery, and ultrapure water (UPW) systems.
  • Support development of heat and material balances to size and evaluate process and utility systems.
  • Perform basic hydraulic calculations and assist with piping network modeling (e.g., Pipe-Flo) to evaluate pressure drop, flow distribution, and system capacity.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and system layouts for compliance with applicable codes and engineering standards (e.g., ASME B31.3, NFPA, IFC).
  • Assist in developing and reviewing safety documentation and design features for hazardous gas and chemical systems.
  • Support project execution activities including submittal reviews, responses to RFIs, coordination with other disciplines, and contract document clarifications.
  • Participate in construction support, commissioning, and system startup activities for high-tech manufacturing facilities.
