Your Opportunity In this position as a Co-op/Summer/Intern Student, you will have the opportunity to work as part of a team of engineers and designers on multiple projects for a range of clients. This is a great opportunity for a motivated, energetic individual who wants to challenge their abilities in a dynamic work environment. The role of a Co-op/Summer/Intern Student is to perform a variety of assignments within the mechanical engineering discipline under the direct supervision of a Senior Designer or Engineer. Tasks may include preparing drawings and assisting with the design of mechanical systems to support various facility types..

Requirements

  • Able to process information quickly and accurately
  • Working knowledge of software programs including AutoCAD and Revit
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Must have completed at least second year of Bachelors’ program in Mechanical Engineering by start date of Internship

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with and assist Building Mechanical Engineers and Designers
  • Interpret architectural, mechanical, electrical, structural and civil plans
  • Perform engineering calculations using HVAC design software and Excel
  • Use AutoCAD and Revit to prepare HVAC and plumbing drawings and details
  • Learn to apply fundamental engineering principles to solve real-world problems
  • Collaborate with and support multi-disciplinary project team(s)
  • Participate in Summer Intern Design Project with interns of other building design disciplines
