The Process Engineer will provide advanced knowledge and technical expertise to deploy continuous improvement in process. Will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and optimizing industrial processes to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure product quality and safety. This role involves identifying process bottlenecks, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to implement improvements, developing SOPs, and using data and simulation tools to drive continuous enhancement.

  • Provide technical support to plant operations and maintenance teams.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of new and/or modified processes and equipment.
  • Ensure all production and operating processes operate safely and in compliance with regulatory/organizational safety and environmental program standards and goals.
  • Collaborate with EHS Lead to develop and implement company safety and environmental program.
  • Oversee Process Controls position- supervision will include coaching and making decisions related to talent management, hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions.
  • Analyze and evaluate the facility's processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement process optimization strategies to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve process-related issues.
  • Monitor and analyze process data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Available to respond to calls for direction and troubleshooting of complex continuous operations, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Coordinate with additional subject matter experts to update regulations and policies to ensure compliance with standards and best practices.
  • Manage and promote continuous improvement of environmental health and safety management systems.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 15% of the time for work-related activities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of full-time employee work experience in process engineer position.
  • Experience in process industry including but not limited to: renewable or bio-diesel production, steam reformation, oil and gas industry, hydro treating, and/or a PSM regulated facility.
  • Experience with Aspen HYSYS software
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Eager for hands on experience and advanced training opportunities
  • Knowledge of process simulation software and statistical analysis tools
  • Willing to relocate to Nebraska and work on site in Hastings, NE
  • Comfortable working in an industrial work environment that may include loud areas, work at heights, entry into confined spaces, and other potential chemical/atmospheric hazards that require use of appropriate PPE.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Experience providing operational leadership to audit, inspection, and risk assessment processes.
  • Familiarity with renewable diesel production processes is a plus.
  • Directly monitor production outcomes, quantity, and quality to ensure customer requirements are within specifications.
  • Oversee operations for multiple departments or processes and shifts and to ensure indirect reports follow policies and procedures related to employee, process, and environmental safety.
