About The Position

The Process Engineer is responsible for evaluating and improving the performance, reliability, and efficiency of existing manufacturing processes. This role focuses on reducing top operational losses (OEE), optimizing process flow, and strengthening process control, automation, and documentation accuracy across assigned manufacturing lines. Key Objectives: Evaluate manufacturing line performance against intended design and operating conditions, Reduce chronic operational and efficiency losses, Identify gaps in process documentation, controls, and instrumentation, Support root cause analysis and corrective action development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related field
  • Demonstrated experience in manufacturing process evaluation and optimization
  • Strong knowledge of P&IDs, instrumentation, and industrial control systems
  • Experience with pneumatic conveying systems and material flow analysis
  • Plant-based process engineering experience required

Responsibilities

  • Analyze throughput, cycle time, downtime, flow rates, and bottlenecks
  • Identify inefficiencies, material flow interruptions, and losses impacting OEE
  • Support equipment and process qualification activities
  • Troubleshoot process issues including material conveyance losses, pneumatic inefficiencies, improper valve sizing, and contamination or infiltration risks
  • Review PLC and HMI configurations, automation logic, and network architecture
  • Evaluate alarm management, interlocks, and data acquisition systems
  • Identify weaknesses in control strategies affecting safety, reliability, or performance
  • Recommend improvements to controls, automation, and process data reliability
  • Review P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and instrumentation drawings
  • Conduct field walkdowns to verify documentation against actual plant conditions
  • Identify missing, outdated, or inaccurate process documentation
  • Prepare redlines and recommended documentation updates
  • Support structured root cause analysis for chronic operational losses
  • Develop technical recommendations and corrective actions
  • Collaborate with site leadership to build and track loss-elimination action plans
