The Process Engineer / Project Engineer is responsible for supporting plant operations, capital projects, and process control improvements in a chemical manufacturing environment. This role reports to the Senior Technical Project Engineer and is based on site in Minden, LA.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
  • 0–7 years of experience in a plant or chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to learn process control systems.
  • Experience working with contractors or vendors.
  • Exposure to CAPEX projects.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Must receive State Police Explosives and ATF clearance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain State and Federal explosives licenses
  • Candidates must meet all eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain applicable state and federal explosives licenses, including minimum age requirements (21 and over), a drug-free workplace in compliance with the Drug-Free Workplace Act of 1988 (41 U.S.C. §§ 8101–8106), Executive Order 12564 (Drug-Free Federal Workplace), applicable Department of Defense directives including DoD Instruction 1010.09 and DFARS 252.226-7003 and successful completion of any legally required background investigations.
  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

  • Familiar with laboratory analytical equipment for chemical analysis of in-process and final product.
  • Exposure to process control systems (DCS/PLC).

Responsibilities

  • Analyze process data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
  • Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Learn and support process control systems and strategies.
  • Implement process improvements with cross-functional team buy-in.
  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and leadership teams to support safe plant operations.
  • Manage small to mid-sized CAPEX projects from planning through execution.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors including scope development and pricing.
  • Track project progress and provide status updates.
