About The Position

Job Purpose Statement • The Engineer will be responsible for leading projects for scrap reduction purpose, exploring and developing new concepts and methodologies that can or improve processes, products or costs. Applies analytical methods to review process and product data and bring about significant improvements in manufacturing efficiencies and product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze process and product data and recommend system changes which result in quality and productivity improvements.
  • Provide technical input to process and design engineers on matters pertaining to improved process and product design.
  • Conduct capability studies on equipment to determine the true ability of the machine.
  • Lead site Quality Technicians in meeting customer expectations in complaint and nonconforming investigation responses.
  • Identify manufacturing and development constraints.
  • Lead / facilitate structured problem solving to preform root cause failure analysis and define / implement corrective and preventive actions to preclude recurrence.
  • Support the development and maintenance of QMS to ensure compliance to standards, including ISO9001.
  • Conduct internal and external audits, publish findings and recommendations.
  • Review standard job elements and standard work instructions and maintain as appropriate.
  • Assist in the restructure of production lines to push responsibility to the operator and train operator on measurement techniques.
  • Assist with PPAP inspections and preparation of paperwork requested.
  • Assist with the implementation of a weekly and monthly quality report process.
  • Identify deviations from established product or process standards and provide recommendations for resolving deviations.
  • Implement and maintain approved documented quality systems that are effective in controlling process and product quality.
  • Organize and direct personnel and equipment to assure that products purchased, manufactured and shipped meet customer requirements.
  • Maintain Internal Quality Audit System and Corrective Action Status for reporting to management on the suitability and effectiveness of the Quality System.
  • Develop, monitor and analyze factory trials and experiments.
