About The Position

Provide technical expertise and guidance to support and continuously improve operational performance.

Requirements

  • BSME or BSIE preferred.
  • 1-2 yrs mfg. engineering experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage plant layout and flow.
  • Determine/manage operational costs on the shop floor.
  • Assist in determining labor costs for products
  • Play an active role in the pilot run process for all new product introductions and/or enhancements.
  • Proactively communicates across the organization business issues and opportunities.
  • Be familiar with all manufacturing processes (machining, fabrication, upholstery, etc).
  • Be familiar with and utilize Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Participate in kaizen program activities for the Process Team and be prepared to assist the Product Team during Program implementation.
  • Gather and verify Sequence of Events (SOE) times.
  • Be able to perform time studies and factor in 100% productivity.
  • Identify non-value-added tasks in processes and develop solutions to eliminate.
  • Assist in physical movement of small plant assets during a kaizen program including machine & equipment, inventory, racks, small tools, etc.
  • Work with Operation Method Sheets (OMS) when necessary.
  • Data input owner for process, work content, BOM, TQC,
  • Initiate Engineering Change Requests for SOE process, procedure, and time related items.
  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of continuous improvement activities.
  • Support Production and Engineering ideas by sharing information and upgrading as needed existing machines, facilities, and support systems.
  • Monitor all requests for new or realigned processes to ensure continuity as well as cost feasibility to all areas and the adherence with Lean Principles and Methodology.
  • Perform justification on proposed new assets.
  • Support our Environmental Management System (EMS).
  • Support the safety and environmental efforts to better serve our employees and community
  • Understand, support and execute the achievement of performance measures on scorecards.
  • Follow and support the Quality system.
