About The Position

We're supporting an established Tier-1 automotive manufacturer with full-cycle glass and component fabrication operations in Nashville, TN. The Process Engineer will own a production area — leading process optimization, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives in a high-volume environment. This role is ideal for hands-on engineers who thrive on the plant floor, solving real manufacturing problems in real time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering — or equivalent hands-on experience in automotive or industrial production
  • 3+ years in manufacturing (automotive, glass, or metal forming preferred)
  • Hands-on PLC exposure (Allen-Bradley or Siemens)
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capability
  • Proficient in CAD (SolidWorks preferred)
  • Understanding of PFMEA, SPC, 5-Why, and Pareto analysis
  • Comfortable working on the production floor in a union environment
  • Willing to work occasional overtime or weekends as project needs dictate
  • Results-oriented and detail-driven
  • Collaborative communicator who isn't afraid to speak up
  • Hands-on approach to problem-solving and process improvement
  • Strong integrity, accountability, and safety mindset

Nice To Haves

  • Six Sigma certification preferred
  • Familiarity with CNC operations, heat-treat/furnace, coating/painting, lamination, and forming processes a plus

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for assigned fabrication processes
  • Manage tooling readiness and setup for each production run
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues in line operations
  • Revise process sheets and drawings to support continuous improvement
  • Lead scrap-reduction and capability-improvement projects
  • Verify component conformance to customer and internal standards
  • Analyze weekly production data and implement root-cause corrections
  • Collaborate with operators to increase throughput and reduce defects
  • Train operators in safe, effective equipment operation and best practices
