About The Position

The Process Engineer will drive continuous improvement, optimize manufacturing processes, and support the launch of new products and technologies for ITW Formex. This role is responsible for determining the methods, controls and quality standards required for processing, fabrication and assembly of products by reviewing parts drawings, specifications, and other engineering data, and ensures that products and processes meet organization standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Analyze, develop, and optimize polypropylene (PP) Extrusion manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and safety Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for process-related issues Lead process trials, validations, and design of experiments (DOEs) for new products, materials, and equipment Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Maintenance, Quality and Production to support daily operations and strategic initiatives Develop and maintain process documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and process flow diagrams Support the implementation of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies Assist in the design and installation of new equipment and process lines Provide technical support for troubleshooting equipment and process adjustments Train operators and technicians on new processes and equipment

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or related field)
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in extrusion or plastics
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and process modeling
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, 8D, Fishbone)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with sheet extrusion equipment and process controls
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience with ERP systems and manufacturing software
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations in a manufacturing setting
  • Knowledge of IATF16949 certificate, UL standards
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification
