About The Position

In this role, you will ensure manufacturing and EHS standards are met while driving compliance and improving operational performance for Utilities. You will work closely with Operations, Maintenance, EHS, and site engineers to maintain safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations. You will manage technical aspects of the Utilities Plant, resolve daily issues, provide training, audit compliance, and implement process improvements. Your focus will include workforce safety, environmental compliance, equipment reliability, regulatory requirements, and coordination with onsite customers. Please note that this role requires on-site presence at least five days per week, Monday through Friday. This role also requires the ability to provide support and address critical business needs at any time, including outside standard working hours, weekends, and holidays, to ensure operational continuity. Requirements

  • The following are required for the role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, plus at least 2 years of relevant experience, to include applicable co-op/intern experience.
  • High degree of initiative, ownership, and energy.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, motivate, and lead teams in cross-functional settings to drive change.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Willingness to learn and achieve new objectives.

Nice To Haves

  • The following are preferred for the role
  • Six Sigma training and working knowledge of Six Sigma tools.
  • Experience with Utilities Operations (Steam Generation, Compressed Air and Nitrogen Systems, and Water Distribution Systems).
  • Experience with sampling required for boiler feedwater analysis.
  • Understanding of water treatment chemical chemistry.
  • Experience with and knowledge of EHS regulatory program requirements, including RCRA, Clean Air Act, HAZWOPER, SPDES, CBS, SPCC.
  • 2 years of professional experience in chemical manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of Pi data historian system, SAP, MS Office, Team Guru.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance and support to Area Process Coordinators
  • Troubleshoot & escalate plant deviations, communicating production risk.
  • Utilize stable operations, Lean, and other Continuous Improvement tools to drive process improvements that focus on safety; exposure reduction, environmental compliance, equipment reliability, and sustainability, and reduction of GHG emissions.
  • Assist APCs within the MOS to resolve and escalate actions.
  • Assist with the management of day-to-day operations and maintenance for plant utility systems including steam, water distribution, nitrogen, instrument air, natural gas, etc...
  • Assist with management of day-to-day operation of the on-site boiler feed water Testing & Monitoring Laboratory; provide technical expertise, leadership, and training to area operators and other site personnel.
  • Resolve PHA actions assigned by PHA results.
  • Develops, leads, and implements MOC’s and PSSRC’s.
  • Lead small to mid-sized capital and structural improvement projects and provide technical knowledge / expertise to the onsite project engineering team for larger project needs.
  • Support and lead the site Utilities Council in all forms of energy efficiency initiatives, energy productivity project execution, and best practice sharing.
  • Learn and comprehend knowledge required to support EHS regulatory program requirements, including RCRA, Clean Air Act, HAZWOPER, SPDES, CBS, and SPCC.

Benefits

  • Base Pay Range: $74,700 - $109,560
  • The actual salary offered is determined by factors including but not limited to education, experience, skill sets, and geography. Local geographic pay differentials may not be reflected in the above pay range and will be discussed with you by a member of the HR team when applicable.
